Bute Shinty & Amateur Athletic Club

About

bute-shinty-logoWe were constituted in our present form in 1946 although prior to that there were several teams on the Island. We have celebrated many league and cup trophy wins over the years most notably the Balliemore Cup which we have won 5 times in the last 10 years, the latest being in 2013.
Hector Whitelaw, Iain McDonald and Graham Fisher have all been selected for the Scottish National Team and we also have had several others including Leighton Reid selected for the under 21`s
Our first team is currently in the National League, our second team is in the South Division 2 and we are gradually introducing our youth teams to competitive sport In conjunction with the local schools. We have trained coaches, those working with youths have the appropriate disclosures and we train everyone in a safe and secure environment. We are aware of the child protection legislation and take these responsibilities seriously. We would welcome and appreciate new members, they would be joining an established club catering for all age groups and all would be valued members of our teams.

We have our own clubhouse with a bar area, function room, kitchens etc. as well as changing facilities. We can host events such as weddings, birthday parties, funerals etc.
We consider ourselves to be a community club having two senior, as well as under 14, P7 and P5 teams. We are actively promoting the youth section as we consider this to be vital in securing the future of our club and to this end we work closely with the local schools.
